A few days ago, OpenAI launched the amazing ChatGPT, which became extremely popular. However, due to uncontrollable circumstances, most people were unable to experience it. Here, I will share the registration strategy.
Preparation#
- First, you need to be able to access Google (a prerequisite that goes without saying)
- You need to have a foreign phone number, GV numbers won't work.
- If you don't have a foreign phone number, I recommend sms-activate.org
Register for SMS platform and top up#
- Register on sms-activate.org in advance
- After registration, proceed with the corresponding top-up
The cost of receiving messages once is 10.5 rubles, approximately 1.2 RMB. Since the default currency for top-up is USD, you can choose to top up with 1 USD.
Register for OpenAI account#
- Open https://beta.openai.com/signup and proceed with the registration.
- Here, you also need to be able to access Google and your IP should not be in Hong Kong. It's best to be in the United States, Singapore, or other countries; otherwise, you will receive a prompt saying that the service is not available in your current country.
- After successful registration, you will be taken to the page where you need to enter your phone number.
- Remember to switch the country code below. The default code here is based on your proxy.
Prepare for receiving verification code#
Here, it's worth noting that currently only Brazil and India seem to be supported. Previously, I selected Indonesia and was able to receive the code.
- Then, on the page where you just entered your phone number, enter the applied phone number.
Start using ChatGPT#
After registration, go to the ChatGPT website to log in. https://chat.openai.com/auth/login
Update on December 6th#
- If you see the prompt below on your page, it means that your proxy is not working~~
- If you can't receive the code, you can return it within the validity period and try another number.
- Some people directly enter the phone number in the input box without removing the country code, and they can still receive it.
- This phone number receiving website is very comprehensive. I demonstrated topping up with 1 USD, but you can also top up with 0.18 USD.
- Currently, it fully supports India and Brazil. You can also choose any+other country options and select the appropriate fee.
